Dear all experts,

we have two machine one is power line another solution line , we used encoder heidenhain ak erm 1200 on powerline , we had spare heidenhain ak erm 2048 on Power line line   its working well , but when i tried to use  heidenhain ak erm 1200 in solution line , alarm show encoder not found , and in power line directly connect to control card , but solution line secondary encoder connecting to SMC... 

 how can use  heidenhain ak erm 1200 in solution line ...?

Split from Multiple Encoders on One Drive - 840D SL.

 Hi, Samiraj, 

1st --here is Siemens CNC forum, if you want to try some 3rd party parts you need to get their datasheet. 

2nd--if you use ak erm encoder good in 840D PL and w/o knowing data sheet, that is good you are lucky. 

3 rd --840D sl using SINAMICS DRIVES the encoder without DriveCliQ , need to use SMC to covert to , then you can connect to SINAMICS. 

I looking for catolg NC62, 2016 version. you can search and download by Google it. 

Ch. 5/130 is for SMC's that is your responsibly to march your your encoder (you should know datasheet) to different SMC .

if you use it for test purpose only , you can try you luck to use any SMC you have. it is not wealth to order a SMC
