Hi,

I'm having some trouble connecting 2 profibus devices. S7 ET200CPU  with CM DP and an S5 CPU with IM308C

What have i done:

1) Downloaded the GSD files (ET200P CPU + CM DP) from the siemens website

2) Placed the files in de comprofibus gsd folder and added the device in the project, set the Adress and added    1 AE   Word    P098   and 1 AA Word P98

3) Transfered to the memory card en placed in the IM308C

4) In the TIA project i added the CM DP card in the hardware config set the correct Adress and baudrate , DP-Slave, and added 1 Word unit Output and 1 Word unit Input transfered to the cpu

5) Connected the profibus cable(Cable is good, this device is just replacing an older S7 CPU with Profibus integrated)

After powering up everything both have failure

The IM308C has BF led

The CM DP has Diag led on and the CPU as SF led on

I readed out the diagnostic buffer but there is nothing special about the CM DP

When i go online with Step 7 PG/PC Profibus test i can see that the master adres 1 and the slave adres 34 are both online

Somebody has an idea what i forgot? I can post some pictures later.

detailed diagnostic is not possible on this module.

But i do have an error in the diagnostic buffer of the cpu

In the attachement is the output of the diagnostic buffer

the error is about the  "VirtualMastersystem_1"

i can't get it to work?

somehow de slave and the master don't find eachother?

I think if there are any mismatches between the send/receive settings then at least the connection would be OK?

As a emergency solution i placed a DP/DP coupler between them and now the et200sp cpu is also a master, they both find the dp/dp coupler and i can get this to work.

Now the communication is OK and the data is transfered/received.

But if someone has any idea or has a working connection between et200sp cpu and s5 928B IM308C  then i will try again.
