I am a student from Belgium and for a project i need to use a motor with an encoder and use it with a drive. I have a motor with an enconder and for my drive i use a SINAMCIS 250S-2 PN. I used the encoder connection of the CU. Now i need to program the drive and use the encoder in TIA V14. My question is where and how can i see my encoder data? What do i need to do to see it and how can i use it in a program?

it sounds like you want to do position control with the drive. With the CU250S-2 and a SIMATIC S7-1200/1500 (that's why ChristophD is asking for the PLC) you have two options:

1) use the drive integrated basic positioner function (EPOS) and use the SINA_POS block (from the DriveLib) in the PLC program to control the EPOS functions in the drive -> so position control is done in the drive and the PLC is giving the setpoints and commands and also gets feedback like the actual position

2) you use technology objects inside the PLC -> so the position control is done inside the PLC. There are different technology objects available (speed axis, positioning axis, synchronous axis,...) in the PLC. The drive is connected to the technology object and in this case is just the "dumb" speed controller.
