Hello Guys,

I have an Induction hardening machine in which there are ET200M and ET200 pro modules. At a certain point in the cycle it is keeping on blowing out these modules ( they are totally going bad, no led's are for fault diagnosis not even the +24v led). I changed these modules , put a new one also changed  the power supply but the modules keep on going bad.  Can anybody guide me regarding the troubleshooting of this issue ?

you should also change the bus connectors and maybe also the IM of the ET200M-block.

By the bus connectors , do you mean the profibus connectors? and Does IM stand for input module?

 Yes- he is referring to the Profibus Connectors + Terminating Resistors.

IM stands for Interface Module (such as IM151)- see attached picture..

Thank you collins, 

I did replace the IM module but it is the one which keeps on  going bad totally. ( it does not even detect 24V). So do you think the profibus is causing it to go bad.?.

So you have replaced the IM153-1 already?

Do you have overload/ short circuit protection for the +24VDC supply on the IM153-1?

If not- you cannot guarantee the module is protected in the event of a problem.

I do have a circuit breaker provided by the OEM, but its not saving the module for some reason.

Also can you suggest me the rating of the breaker if in case I have to add one
