Has anyone gathered some experience with IO Link devices in Simit?

I have a system for simulation where all the instrumentation is connected on IFM IO Link masters, masters creted from GSD's in the TIA project.  I can see in Simit that all of the I/O addresses related to the IO Link masters appear in SIMIT but cannot be accessed in the 'Signals' area for attachment to simulation tools within Simit.  In the TIA project the I/O addresses related to the IO Link devices are declared in the tag table as UDT's so they are easier to handle in the TIA code, is it possible to get the IO which is defined by the UDT to appear in SIMIT so I can connect to it?  Or is there anyway to connect to the raw I/O addresses bypassing the 'Signals' interface.

Even if you are declaring them as UDT in the tagtable, its still an alias to the actual I & Q addresses right?

For the last IFM equipment (Asi-I not IO Link but very similar) I did, when importing the HW into the SIMIT VC the I/Q addresses were words instead of bits, so you just have to make intermediate SIMIT tags with boolean fans (or fancier logic with CTE).  In essence you are re-creating your TIA UDT over again in SIMIT.
