So a part of the area is placed in serverA and the other part is placed in serverB. What can be said about the collection of alarms on the client (groupdisplay)? the only solution I can think of is placing two groupdisplay's on top each other and OR the status of both groupdisplay’s.Is there another solution?Also for the overview area I think I have to do something special or not?Thanks in advance,Jaap

I mean the grouping of alarms e.g. in the overview buttons or grouping alarms in status displays. So not alarmlines but colors ans symbols on the groupdisplays/buttons. Maybe someone else? Maybe it will be good to know how is the picture tree for this area and wich PDL belongs to wich server. As far as I know, the group display on the area button will display all the alarms and warnings of the tags from the main PDL. if there are some subdivision on the area and you want to take the alarms and warnings one level up forall pictures so it can be see it on the area button, you must create a group display for each PDL on the upper PDL screen, like this: Area button (alarms and warning from main screen) 1.-Main_screen.pdl (have to contain group display of 1.1 and 1.2) 1.1. A.pdl (Have to contain the group display of 1.1.1) 1.1.1 C.pdl 1.2. B.pdl With best regards David

Danielle Posts: 1275 Rating: (123)	Hi Jaapie, Just like David's said, the group displays will work according to the plant hierarchy... and so will your .pdl's... when you assign the OS for the hierarchy folder the behaviour of group displays is already set... so a group display for a screen will always account for everything within that screen, which is everything within that hierarchy folder... Messages are generated by blocks, which are within charts, which are within hierarchy folders... However, if you copy and paste objects from other screens you'll lose this great functionallity that PCS 7 configures for you. Best regards, Danielle

In these projects are 42 servers and stand alone machines, 40 PLC's and 25 clients. We use PCS7 but not the standard configuration. So we have a PLC orientated configuration not a area orientated one. Some areas are divided into two PLC's and located into two servers. The clients can be connected to 12 servers. 1) We have 10 userprojects 2) Yes, splitted over projects 3) No, we can not use the standard PCS7 functionality because we want te have the same typical on several servers (thats one of the reasons why we do not use automtic update of icons) 4)hard to explain. Our goal is to show groupalarm on the client. These groupalarms must be created by several servers and at the top they must be brought together. We tried some things but I do not think there is an easy (standard) solutions. Thanks for your time, Jaap

Need a few manual operation: 1) share "Server Data" over server where with splitted area (like in server-client configuration) 2) put manually ALL "Alarm Group" on the WinCC page (both from your own server and from serverwhereshared "Server Data" as well as point 1 above) 3) update Picture Tree manager by winCC explorer (you have to do 'cause WinCC has to link all Alarm Group you configured in your page) The result will be you can see the group disply on overwiev highlight on both server when alarm occours. P.S.:importing Server Data means you'll get all alarm messages too. If you messages don't wantdisplay on 1st server coming from 2nd one, you have to filter them. I hope this can help you Regards
