I am using IOT2040 to retrieve weather forecast and pass it on to our automation systems for several customers. My utility uses WGET to download an XML file from Environment Canada Weather server. They recently upgraded the server and HTTP downloads are no longer supported. They force use of HTTPS. My utility stopped working. It is getting a message “wget: error getting response”. From Wireshark I can see that WGET does not initiate TSL handshake but sends the GET request clear text even though the URL is for HTTPS and it is destined for port 443. Since this is not allowed the server promptly closes the connection.

I am running the example image ver. 2.4.0.
Is there a way to configure WGET to do encrypted communication?

I also noticed that WGET command runs BusyBox. This is probably why /etc/wgetrc file is missing.
Is there a way to install true wget utility?

Thank you for the suggestion @Fe_lipe. I did not try this but I found another work around. I am using curl instead of wget. That works fine.
