Dear All Experts

I have a project which is done by PCS7 v8.1. i used the APL to create this project.

Right now I want to modify the block icon of some my valve. 

I performed the desired modifications in the @PCS7TypicalsAPLV8.PDL.

After that I compiled the wincc and also used the Create/Update Block Icons in the plant hierarchy. 

But the problem is that the blocks are not updating.

Is there probably any other PDL that PCS7 is using as reference?

Any suggestion?

hey,

as a standard of PCS 7, it's always recommanded to copie the Typical and modify in the new PDL.

about your question, please check the BlockIcon number used in your CFC.

thanks for the quick response.

If I understand correctly, you mean I should make a copy of the @PCS7TypicalAPLV8.PDL and rename it to something for example, @PCS7TypicalAPLV8_modified.PDL and then do the changes in this PDL.

If I do so, how does system knows which PDL to use as the reference for the typicals?

In my project, I set the block icon numbers in the CFC.

I don't want any major change, just for example change the tag name location (see attached file).

but it is not updating.

 you must change the number of the new blockicon in the new PDL you created and give it a number different of numbers used by the system, please follow the steps given by oreca
