on S7-1200/S7-1500 the processimage size is as default the complete I/O which is supported from PLC.

No need to set the size specific for this PLC types.

 Hi Christoph. Are Profinet connected devices restricted to this default process image size?

I have a 1215c that is used just for profinet control to collect flow meter data. Each sensor has 94 bytes of input and 3 byte of output and I get an error when I add the tenth sensor.

S7-1215 has a process image size of 1024 bytes of inputs and the same size for outputs..

10 sensors with 94 input bytes should fit into this, but you also have DI/O, analog I, high speed counters built into this CPU, which use up some of the PI.

Do you use only the CPU and the sensors, or you have some other PLC modules or PN modules connected?

You are right about the DI/O, AI/O HSC and pulse generators taking up memory. There was also a 60 byte gap between DI and AI. I closed this gap and remapped my sensors, now I can get 10 sensors in the PI.

My real problem is I intended to have 22 sensors connected. When I got the CPU, I thought with 125KB of work memory and 4MB of load memory it wouldn't be a problem. I am used to using an S7-400 for this sort of thing where you can expand the PI.

I it not possible to expand the PI of the S7-1200 CPU's?

no is not possible, the 1024 byte are fixed in the PLC.

I think you choose the wrong PLC for that. (S7-1500 where beter here)
