denniskle Posts: 31 Rating: (1)	You can create a string of bits from the decimal value of an word/byte by dividing the value by (2^bitno) and checking whether the result is 1 or not, then use mod to get the leftover data: [code] data = 2345 'the value of the word you want to take data from power = 15 'because there are 16 bits, if you want to transfer a byte to bin, use 7 While power >=0 bit = data \ (2 ^ power) data = data Mod (2 ^ power) strBin = strBin & CStr(bit) power = power - 1 Wend [/code] The result will be in strBin, in this example: "0000100100101001". Now you can take bits out of the string by using the Mid() function: [code] boolean_tag.Value = CBool(Mid(strBin,5, 1)) [/code] This puts the fifth character in the string from the left (not bit 5) in a boolean tag.

The Body Posts: 836 Rating: (71)	Hi WilqU, by using the "AND" operator and the certain bit, e.g. "2^0" for bit 0. Don't use this at Bit 31for a double word, unless you won't get an overflow.
