Trouble with retrieving from archive on Desktop PC, Windows 10 x64. Starter V5.4.0.1, also noticed this same problem with previous version V5.1.??.

Retrieve from archive fails with message 3020:8 "unable to generate the process for the archive program command....."

exists the 7zip.exe in the named path?

if 8.3 support enabled on the system?

 s7arconx.exe is present at C:\Program Files (x86)\SIEMENS\Step7\S7BIN

7zip.exe is in the path specified in the error message.

First attempt to install this version (V5.4) started with the warning dialog about this and I cancelled install, talked to out loan IT guy and he suggested enable it under administrator command prompt with "fsutil behavior set disable8dot3 0"

Did this, ran installer and got the same message, so cancelled again, queried status, which said 8dot3 was enabled on all drives. So restarted, queried again, still enabled, so ran installer and accepted when I got the 8dot3 warning. Installation completed without problems.

I had the same basic problem with V5.1.0.1, but didn't have to archive/retrieve barely ever so overlooked it. Now with the pandemic I am working from home and sending projects back and forth through email so it is more of a problem.

I can get around it by just archiving and retrieving the files directly with 7zip, but I don't like to use this solution.
