Currently, I am working on pump control project and I would like to implement pump block protection. Medium is waste water with some solid particles and from time to time, pump gets blocked. Once it happens, no water is pumped, motor is not cooled, no sensor is drained to stop the pump, so eventually, this situation ends with shiny bright electrical surge.

I decided to solve this by analog pressure sensor, so I can monitor water level to collect data AND to implement the pump block protection. My idea was to check water level during the pump run and in case I do not see any (or very small) water level difference in 30 second intervals, I can stop the pump and yield "pump block error". 

I came with solution you can see in attachment. It works, somehow. But again, I have feeling it is over complicated and error prone, and that it is possible to solve it in easy and elegant manner. So if you have some better idea, please share it.
