On the Fanuc I would use G50 to limit the spindle revs and then G96 to activate CSS -  can see G96 on the Sinumerik but can't see an equivalent for the G50

Any pointers?

Hi

I am not a NC part programmer and so G code is not my strength. That being said setting data 43230 SPIND_MAX_VELO_LIMS would typically set the speed limit when constant cutting speed is active.

I appreciate that this is not a G code as you requested but maybe of some use to you until someone with a greater programming knowledge replies

As an example, if I am to limit the Spindle speed to 1000 RPM

You can use the following command 

LIMS=1000

You could use G25 and G26, but this overwrites the stored values in the Setting data of the Spindle, so even if the machine is turned off it would remember it, which could lead to problems,

G25 is then the lower limit speed and G26 is the upper limit speed.

So G26 S1000 

But i would recommend using LIMS=1000

I don't think there is a G code in ISO 6983 for spindle limitation. G50 is as arbitary as LIMS=.

You can always add to the macro file a definition for G50 to be defined as LIMS=
