Hi all;

I've a vertical machining center which has Sinumerik 840C control system. The problem is about displaying "workpiece coordinate system" and "absolute coordinate system".The only coordinate system we can see is "Machine Coordinate System". There is no coordinate system selection on the menus. 

How can I fix this problem?

Sorry for my mistake. Setting data 5001 bit 0 has solved the problem partially. When a program run, x,y,z positions displayed according to workpiece coordinate system. However, still there is no selection for the Relative Coordinate system.

I'm sorry but I'm struggling with your references to Workpiece, Absolute, and now relative coordinate systems.

The system can show workpiece coordinates or machine coordinates, i.e. Machine position from the reference point or tool position taking into account tool and workpiece offsets.

Yes, you're completely right.

I made a mistake in asking the first question using the terms workpiece coordinate system and absolute coordinate system.

On FANUC CNC's there is one more display method, which called Relative Coordinate system, in addition to workpiece and Machine coordinates.

This coordinate system allows you to set your own point of reference. It is most commonly used when taking measurements on the machine. With this display screen page, you can reset (set to zero) or preset (set to a specific value) the axis display registers. One example of when this display screen is needed is when measuring tool length compensation values on machining centers. During this procedure, you bring the spindle nose to a flat surface and then zero the Z axis register value (on the relative display screen page). After loading a tool, you bring the tool tip to the same surface. At this point the Z axis register of the relative page will show you the tool's length.
