CP 1623 NDIS

Rocky Balboa Posts: 36 Rating: (3)	Hello everybody; I’ve installed a 1623 CP on a WinCC Server. When I click on the “Set PG/PC Interface” in the control panel and select the “CP1623(RFC1006)” for setting the Properties, in the NDIS box I find that there is an IP address. I have another similar computer that instead of a CP1623 has a CP1613, and if I check select the “CP1613(RFC1006)” and click on the properties on the NDIS box I have “NDIS1613 not installed!”. My question is if it is possible to remove the CP1623 NDIS? (I can not set the NDIS IP to the same IP address that I input in the CP1623 box bellow the NDIS box, and I don’t want that the CP uses 2 IPs of the network) Can anyone help me with this issue? It's network driver of the CP which can be thenused as standard network card in Windows and there has to be different IP address than for industrial ethernet network...

Sydney Gold Member Joined: 1/4/2008 Last visit: 12/22/2025 Posts: 703 Rating: (98)	There is already a newer product -Edition 2008 http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/31675909 but it means another costs, imho your release (I suppose you bought CP1623 with) is sufficient if it has no trouble and work correctly...

Rocky Balboa Posts: 36 Rating: (3)	Yes Sydney, I bought the Simatic Net with theCP1623. I must use this edition of the Simatic Net. On the readme file that comes in the "SIMATIC NET IE S7-1613 Edition 2007" i found the following note: - As of the "SIMATIC NET PC Software, Edition 2007" CD, there are no longer two drivers for the CP 1613 (one for industrial communication and one for office/NDIS access) but only one. You will find this in the Device Manager under Network Adapters. I think that all the notes of the CP 1613 also apply to the CP 1623. It must be a way of using CP 1623 as an industrial communication card and using only one IP for this card; or am I wrong? Best Regards.

There is only one driver, which is probably sufficient for both networks so you can't uninstall the NDIS alone. But it doesn't mean that there is only one IP address for both, on the other way I think that it's good to have the possibility of different IP configuration for NDIS. Regards Sydney
