Hello everyone;

when I launch the loading of my second engineer station I get an error "error in changing the computer name in the project"

what should I do to eliminate this error and do I have to change the name before installing PCS7?

Hi,

Can you give more information about the problem? Is the project migrated because in v8.1 the computername cannot contain special characters like "-" , "_" unlike older PCS7 versions. There are some other restrictions as well.

Please specify more details.

You could try to set the ES name before downloading and check if that works..

No; i am using PCS7 V7.1 and the name of my station is SERV14. but I think about SQL server it may be the cause

When exactly or during which action do you receive this message ?

The last post sound for me like, that the Computername in your WinCC project doesn't match the real Computername oder your OS Server.

Hello sam2014,

if you have already checked the configurated Computer Name in WinCC and compared it with the real one, this is most probaly a damaged WinCC installation / SQL Database.

I think in a such case its the best way to reinstall the OS.  (please save your Licenses before)
