Just to share a software limitation on chart in chart. 

We cant change the chart name of chart in chart in Process Object View. It is a software limitation.

This is an interesting observation. In conjunction to your finding about 'Chart in Charts' in POV, it is also found that the Chart IO parameters of the 'Chart in Charts'  do not get listed in the parameters tab of the POV as the 'Chart in Charts' are not considered as an equivalent to a block.

In my point of view, Siemens could've considered the option of having 'Chart in Charts' for better segregation of logic (this is before the advent of Technological Engineering). 

However, once Technological Engineering came into the product, the 'Chart in Charts' in the CMTs are populated in the 'Technological List Editor' (equivalent of POV for Technological engineering).

Considering that Siemens is improving the features of Technological Engineering for better engineering experience consistently in the newer updates, it is something the Product Management might take a call based on the current priorities. (my opinion)
