Connection disconnected between PC and CPU313C-2DP

I have a system with CPU313C-2DP and some remote I/Os. The system controls a packaging machine. The HMI is a touch PC siemens IL77. The connection between that PC and PLC via a PC adapter (USB). First I have made a connection on the MPI port of the CPU and the connection established but suddenly it is disconnected for few seconds and then return connected! This strange thing happened frequently and also happened when connecting via profibus DP port on the CPU! What can I do to eleminate this problem?

Late Platinum Member Joined: 1/7/2006 Last visit: 5/11/2025 Posts: 2705 Rating: (321)	Hi, How many communication are you using (I mean S7-connections) from your CPU to others ? PG and IL77 is counting in this, I believe that you could have 4 connections from such a small CPU....

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello, actually the now available USB adaptor is notthestandard interfaceto be used for HMI use, also with PRODAVE MPI. Have you ever spend a thought on using a CP 5611 instead, together with SIMATIC NET or with any other visualization Software. Best regards J_Bell

I have 6 profibus nodes connected to the DP port of the CPU: 3 of them for I/O nodes, 2 of them for profibus encoder, the last for a TP270. The IL77 is connected to MPI port of the CPU using a PC adapter. There is no any other connections for the MPI port of the CPU. Only the IL77.

I would like to know whether communication between is only PLC & IL77 is disconnecting or the Complete Network. First thing i would like to know whetheryou are are using IM 361 & IM360 with PLC Rack. In Dec .2004 i had the same issue of the Communication loss on MPI. After trouble shooting alot we found that the Parrallel Interfacing Cable between IM360 & IM361 was from Defective Lot. Bacuase of defective Interfacingcable PLC was exceeding the scan Cycledue to loss of I/O for some time we were losing the Communication . In your case the problem may be differentsince we dont know the exactHardware configuration. Thecomplete Hadware configuration details would be helpful to analze the issue correctly. Please upload the Screen shot of Hadware configuration .

The communication between only the PLC & IL77 is disconnected, the remaining network is still connected. NB: I use a PC adaptor USB for the communication between IL77 and PLC. And I have tried to connect the Adaptor to the profibus network. The whole nodes are keeping connecting but the IL 77 get disconnected frequently! I do not use IM360 & IM361 in the network. J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Dear Ayman Elotaify, Istill have the opinion that the MPI Adaptor will not really work with this configuration and should therefore not be used here. In your case I would wait untill the next thursday... and check the latest SIMATIC NET updates... if we are lucky you will find there the solution for your problem. Best regards J_Bell
