As mentioned in the responses for the linked thread, there are two possible ways to change the resolution (picture size) of the picture - With the OS Project Editor settings and within the Graphic Designer -> Object Properties. 

Are you using a distributed setup? If yes, have you tried  doing the below mentioned step?

If you are using a distributed setup ( Engineering Station and OS Server on separate PCs), the changes performed in the OS Project Editor or Graphic Designer on the OS Server will be overwritten after the next OS Compile.

Hence, it is necessary to do the above mentioned changes by opening the OS Project in Engineering Station and performing a full compile and download later on (after changing the relevant picture size settings).

I fully understand this mechanism, but the essence of the problem is a little different.

There are 2 types of pictures: 1) picture size matches the OS Project Editor Settings, 2) picture size differs from OS Project Editor Settings. It is necessary that after compilation the size of 1 group matches the settings, and 2 groups remains the same (which is set via Graphic Designer -> Object Properties).

I would not like to re-size the pictures of group 2 after each compilation. Is it possible to freeze the size of images for group 2 so that they are not copied from the OS Project Editor settings during compilation?

In that case, you should not use OS Client Reference anymore. Create another one OS Client , then you can configure the picture size to match. 

If not, probably can do some creative method like writing a script to open picture , when detected xxx computer name, geometry of the picture size changed to x , y .
