Update: pls keep in mind that example isn't good way to you, because your project can vary from example, your project depends to BC code value and also what datas you need print, with which size and other properties. This you must look inside Zebra documentation. Also if you need find 128 BC code, in one of that topics is my example of some output in 128 BC code. You can revers-engineer it with cooperation with documentation. No better help.

My provider has offered me Zebra model GK420, I don't know if it's better, more simple, use the Ethernet port or the serial port.

The Machine has a CPU 1214C and HMI TP700 Comfort Panel.

The machine only has to print four parameters, perhaps it is easier to print through the HMI...

only for sure, check if in case of Zebra's only serial interface you need have CM1241 RS-232 serial module attached to your CPU (what I remember from my old projects, never saw RS-485). In case of Ethernet port, you can use CPU's Profinet Port for communication over TCP/IP protocol. In both cases you need prepare user defined communication.

Update: hard to say about better handling with HMI, all of my projects was solved with user communication inside PLC.

For the last days, I've been looking for help in this topic. I managed to print labels straight from the PLC. The solution is very simple :

1. Create a label in "zebra designer" -> save and click File -> send to printer. In my example, the label name "ETYKIET1.ZPL" - I use two FN11 and FN12 data fields, one for printing the second text to the DMC code, but you can insert everything you specify is the label template that is in the printer.

2. Add TSEND_C in the project.
3. Data to send is a character table.
In my example, I call a file saved on a printer named e: label1.zpl and I put in the field of variables what should print

I used ethernet port and TCP-IP communication in my last project with Zebra printer. But I had a situation where i needed to change 6 parameters from HMI so that printer always prints different ticket when user inputs new parameters. In that case I used array of strings in which I put my entire zebra ticket txt. file but in that way that I have put each of those  6 parameters into different string field ( for example for string array of 9 [0-10] i have put parameter "customer refference" alone into field string[3]). That way i could easily extract it on HMI as string tag and change it from there without interfering into whole txt.(zpl) code of the ticket.
