Hello everyone,

I intend to use 1215 DC / DC / DC to control Chinese servo drives/motors via PTO. The controller itself has 4  PTOs but I have a total of 6 servo drives. How is it possible to expand the PTO number for the S7 1200.

How about signal boards DQ  4x24VDC like 6ES7 222-1BD30-0XB0 it have 200kHZ outputs

he good heartedly volunteered an answer that does not answer the question.

You cannot expand the S7-1200 to be able to drive more than 4 pulse-and-direction signals. No additional hardware will fix that.

Do you need to drive all 6 axis at the same time?
Can you change the motor drivers?
Is the use of analog an option on the drives?

First of all thank you all for the reply. These are two working places with x, y, z and  they don’t have to move at the same time.  Do you think I can somehow use one output to control all three axes?

There has been an FAQ on this matter where two motions was handled with one pulse pair. Search for it and see if you can find it, as it will save you some time in development.

The idea would be that you have a relay that switches the pulse signals to either drive A or to drive B. The trick is to have the motion object keeps track of what is happening. If I recall correctly, each movement has its own motion object DB even if it shares the output signals. The input signals (like enable) does not need to be shared.

Sorry for not detailing more information than this. But the point is that this is technically possible. I would have probably used a 2nd PLC or better yet -- a servo drive that can be controlled with communications or analog.

I think yes with one PTO output you can connect to both axes but this output must be connected via relay contacts. If you controlling first motion you need turn on first relay and first motion drive get your PTO from controller if you whant controll second motion drive you need turn off first relay and turn on second reley to other motion drive.

Thanks certainly for the suggestions, my first option was definitely to take two PLCs 1215 which would be connected through PROFINET.

Mr.V ...and for the S7 1500 (cpu 1511-1 PN) as I noticed when inserting TO Positioning Axis does not allow me to choose PTO but only analog or via PROdrive ?
