My recollection is that S7-1200 PLC's programmed in TIA Portal V12 did not support the upload function. Consequently, you will need to have the original TIA Portal project for the PLC to be able to examine the program. The compatibility between TIA Portal versions as of V15.1 is discussed in TIA Portal V15.1 System Manual: Compatibility between TIA Portal versions. In order to open your V12 project in TIA Portal V15.1, you will first need to upgrade your project to TIA Portal V13 SP2. You can download a trial version of TIA Portal V13 SP2 at SIMATIC STEP 7 including PLCSIM V13 SP2 TRIAL Download. Depending on operating system compatibility, you may be able to install TIA Portal V13 on the same PC that is running TIA Portal V15.1. You can use TIA portal V13 SP2 to open your V12 project then save it as a V13 SP2 project. TIA Portal V15.1 can then be used to open your V13SP2 project. You will need to download the upgrade (to V15.1) project to the PLC before you can go online to monitor the program operation. I am not 100% sure, but I strongly suspect that you will NOT be able to monitor code blocks written in Step 7 Classic with TIA Portal. You may be able to monitor PLC tags using TIA Portal watch tables. If you migrate a Step 7 Classic project to TIA Portal, you then may (or may not) be able to monitor the blocks in the PLC w/o first downloading them from TIA Portal: I don't know if this works or not. |
