Cant read data from KWH meter with CIM

thank you for the Modbus lessons. Slowly I am learning more and more about this protocol. I understand that for a word you fill in the length 2, for a D-word you fill in 4. In the documentation of the KWH meter there is no information about the Modbus addresses. I can set the baudrange, Modbus address, parity and stop bit though. In my other configuration with the RTU-2-TCP gateway, I changed the length of the addresses from 3 to 2 and finally to 1. Even in 1, everything continues to work fine. Again I followed your advice and tested everything with only one variable. Unfortunately I am again not getting a correct value via restful api. In the attachment you can see the configuration I tested with. Question: Besides the S7 and RTU settings you can also enter variables in data managment / variablen. What are these for? The Siemens manual remains vague about this.
