DP/DP Coupler

JoeGrib Posts: 26 Rating: (1)	Navnag Can you see the DP/DP couplers in "View Accessible Nodes" when you connect your PG to each profibus segment ? Things cannot suddenly go so horribly wrong. There is a basic ( Somtimes ... stupid ) problem somewhere. Above all, Don't panic and have patience ... Navnag Yes, the Coupler is visible as in "View Accessible Nodes" I think that the problem was always there, but it's sending data so a number of us assumed it was ok.(The techs checking didn't notice any difference, because it's all new and weren't told what to look for until this scheduled maintenance). Thanks for the "Don't Panic", (Douglas Adams would be proud) and you're very right about patience!

JoeGrib Posts: 26 Rating: (1)	Not sure if anyone is interested in learning what the problem was, but maybe this will help prevent someone else from making the same mistake in the future. It turns out that none of the PG's being used on the floor by the operators and techs had the updated .gse file for the DP/DP coupler. The incompatible version of the hardware config was downloaded by mistake. You guys all said that it was going to be something simple. You were all correct, but I doubted you. I hope I have leaned a valuable lesson! Thanks again.
