Now we want to replaced with Simatic MP 277 10” Touch Panel CONFIG: WINCC FLEXIBLE 2008. Is this HMI compatible & also is there any problem in PROTOOL project into WINCC FLEXIBLE Conversion ? Please tell me if any other compatible HMI in a economical view....

Normally it should be ok, but who knows, so better is to try to convert and then analyze errors/warnings you get. Then you will have more clear picture. About panel. MP277 should be ok as long as TP270 (10") has no successor product. You just change device type in Flexible and try to compile. Everything should be ok. And if everything is ok then you can order new panel.

Darius Platinum Member Joined: 9/28/2005 Last visit: 7/24/2025 Posts: 2957 Rating: (243)	look here: Discontinuation: SIMATIC TP 270, OP 270 and MP 270TP270 10" is replaced by MP277 8" (6AV6643-0CB01-1AX1), so maybe its better to go for it ? First I thought it will be resolution issue, but I've checked all panel and all have 640x480 resolution so in any case your pictures will not be corrupted by resolution conversion. So I think you can go for any of those two panels.

Hi, the conversion itself doesn´t work without any changes in your configuration (caused f. e. by the settings of the area pointers wich are different at WinCC flexible). If you want to check what have to be done if you convert this project to flexible (in a MP277) i advice you to take a look at the migration manual (chapter 3): WinCC flexible migration manual For the replacement of a MP270, the MP277 is the best choice. The MP277 is the successor type of the MP270 and full compatible. Look here: Discontinuation: SIMATIC TP 270, OP 270 and MP 270 Actually it can't be a replacement as TP270 was 10" and 640x480 resolution and the only one version of TP277 is 6" 320x240 resolution. So it just can't be a replacement.

If you are sure that conversion was ok, all functions on buttons andso on are ok then you're ready to download newly converted project to new HMI. Just don't forget to change device type in the project !

Hi Rajkiran In this FAQIfound this about Protool migration: ProTool Migration: Because of the neccessary changes for the 64 Bit support under Windows 7, the ProTool migration cannot be offered any more with Service Pack 3 for WinCC flexible 2008. el-mare Posts: 19 Rating: (3)	Okay, if the direct migration from Protool to WinCC flexible 2008 SP3 is not supported any more, I would simply migrate in two steps: 1) migrate from Protool to a previous version of WinCC flexible (e.g. 2008 SP2) 2) upgrade from WinCC flexible 2008 SP2 to SP3

If you make conversion on one computer then its good for one project and at the same time when you really need to convert something. I don't believe you uninstall SP3, convert and then install SP3 again...
