I built an automatic test bench with the Logo! This has all gone smoothly, but there is one thing I cannot immediately find a solution for...

In the current version, the operator must manually enter the test parameters.This creates a risk of mistakes and therefore I'm looking for an alternative way of inputting the parameters.

My first idea was, to put on a CVS-list of all products and their corresponding parameters on the SD card.That way, the operator only has to select the product name. This turns out to be not so straightforward to realize in Logo!

An alternative that might even be better than the original idea is to work with a 1D or 2D barcode scanner. The amount of input data is limited and can fit in a QR code. But it also turns out that it is not so obvious to link a standard Barcode scanner with the Logo!

I've been getting stuck on this for a while now.

Can anyone help me move forward with this? Is there any way that either of these 2 ideas can be realised anyway?

Or does anyone have a totally different idea?

Who should make you a suggestion ?

I am not expecting a fully developed concept, but I was hoping someone of the experienced people here could point me in the right direction.

If it is not known what amount of data is involved, what format the data is in, how should a suggestion be made?

And if I am not allowed to ask questions and I am immediately accused of incompetence, then this topic is settled for me.

When I speak of 'experienced people on this forum', I want to emphasise that I myself am a complete newbie when it comes to Logo!

The logo is not able to work with recipes.

Although the Logo can write to a CVS file with the log module, it cannot read it itself and process it programmatically.Therefore there is no possibility with a barcode scanner.

If the data sets are very few, they could be stored in Muxern. However, this only works if there is still enough memory available in the program.

Another possibility would be to outsource the operation and the values and write them in the logo. I could imagine that something can be done with Node-Red or other comparable systems. A Raspberry Pi should be enough for this.

I misinterpreted your first response, which made me think my question was inappropriate on this forum for being too application-oriented. Hence my reply about deleting the post. Sorry for that.

This is an intresting solution and it got me thinking. 

Initially, I used an Esmart04 touchscreen for this project, but I couldn't get the time-critical stuff sorted out. So I switched to the Logo, which did handle the job easily. But, as as explained, I got stuck again...

So, if the Esmart takes care of the HMI and the Logo does the tough work in the background, I have a perfect solution!

It is always about having to know certain details and / or processes for a program if assistance is to be provided.

In your case, you can set the parameters for each product in the program and then arrange them in a selection.

Since the LOGO! but does not have an infinite number of blocks and memory, it would also be important how many products with 5 parameters each have to be tested.

And all of my questions related to that alone, nothing more.

You can store the 5 parameters in 5 analog MUXes and then switch through to the analog output using a corresponding selection circuit.
However, only 4 values ​​can be stored in an analog mux. If you have more than 4 products, you have to cascade the corresponding analog MUXes.
My suggestion would be that an input field be set up for the operator in which he enters the product number, e.g. the product with the number 5.
This would beevaluated and then the associated parameters are selected.

I also remember how you imagine entering the product number:
- by LOGO! Display?
- by TDE?
- via HMI?
- via web server?

I am afraid that the number of different products will be too large to solve this with muxes (again, too little information from my side)

Nonetheless, the idea of the cascaded muxes does come in handy to improve something else in the program.
