Hi Everyone

I have a problem installing and upgrading my TIA V12 to TIA V13.

What I have done already is uninstalling and reinstall all of the  TIA V12 but if I begin to install Sinamics startdrive V13 it gives me the same error over and over. This is the same for any installation disc of TIA V13.

Error description-"Failed to open windows installer database: C:\windows\installer\5e4e7.msi"

I have a Simatic Field PG iCORE 7 64bit operating system.

please disable the Antivirus SW during the Installation.

also run the installation as Admin, with Right-Click on Setup-> Run as Administrator.

What is exactly installed on your PG?

You wrote that you have new installed TIA V12. I think when you want to install StartDrive V13 you need to install Step7 V13 first.

 no if he use the startdrive as standalone product, for this you need no basic installation.

if the file which is listed in the directory and yes which File Size?
Have you clean up the system after the erro installation?

Here is print screens of all of the programs on my PG. attached documents.

I only have the upgrade licence from V11..V12..->V13 for Simatic WinnCC Advance and Simatic Step 7 Professional.

That's why I assumed that V12 still need to be installed for V13 to be accepted for the upgrade license.

I'll uninstall V12 and try to load V13  only to see if it makes any difference.

I'll keep you posted.
