Scenario

I added a control strategy to an existing EMT and made modifications\additions to the setpoints. I completed the changes in the MDL (Master Data Library) and updated the block types to the project. After I compiled and downloaded the changes to the PLC and OS I released the EPHs and EMTs for testing.

During the testing a EPH could no longer acquire the updated EMT. Before the update the tested EPH was able to acquire the updated EMT. I tried a number of things to resolve the issue such as update block contacts, plant sync, full compile and download etc. I checked the technological IO and the EMT was assigned correctly. 

Solution

1. Open chart of EPH not acquiring EMT in project

2. View technological IO for EMT not being acquired.

3. Select attribute value for EMT not being acquired and select a different instance of the EMT in Assigned equipment module. CFC editor will pause for a moment to make new connection (you can not see them)

4. Again, click Assigned equipment module and select original EMT instance. After the CFC editor makes the changes you will see pending changes for the EMT and EPH

5. Compile and download changes.

6. If all goes well the issue should be resolved.
