Power up this morning after weekend and have these error messages come up 8022Option 'activation of more than 2048KB SRAM' not set 300701Axis HSP drive 11 needs setup 300701Axis X drive 1 needs setup 300701Axis Y drive 2 needs setup 300701Axis Z drive 3 needs setup 300701Axis C drive 8 needs setup 300701Axis V drive 4 needs setup 300701Axis W drive 5 needs setup 300701Axis ARL drive 9 needs setup 300701Axis ARR drive 10 needs setup 300701Axis B drive 7 needs setup 300701Axis A drive 6 needs setup Im Guessing memory has failed and this has lost drive information? but first error looks like NC is seeing more memory than it should? PISCEAN 2010 Diamond Expert Joined: 4/23/2010 Last visit: 11/23/2024 Posts: 8092 Rating: (883)	Hello MarcHorner, 8022 significance is option for memory extension does not correspondence to active SRAM. So check the option installed on machine & its size. Also check if memory module installed is changed or replaced. If not, I suggest you to contact your nearest Siemens service/support center.

When your machine in uncenter situation most alarms are nonsense MarcHorner I put in a support request to Siemens UK this morning, They called me up and talked me through restoring an old NC and PLC backup Machine is working now - Great support.

Hello, Its good to learn your machine is working after restoring backup. But being maintenance person, I am always interested to find out root cause of failure, e.g. in your case - 1. Why data needs to be restored? Is battery back up problem? 2. Why alarm 8022 triggered? Is memory module malfunction?

Why data needs to be restored? Is battery back up problem? We had a powercut Friday AM, machine was working Friday PM, Shutdown over weekend and Corrupted memory Monday, Backup battery has inbuilt monitoring and tests OK, (we will find out next Monday... 🤞 ) No fault discovered that caused memory corruption. 2. Why alarm 8022 triggered? Is memory module malfunction? No, as I understand it part of the data that was corrupted contained information that 'activation of more than 2048KB SRAM' WAS set. One thing we have lost is all the active programs that were loaded HD>NC

Thanks for reply. My fault analysis is battery needs to be replaced as from the description it looks like battery could not supply rated power for longer time. (say 48 hrs.)
