Am I right in thinking that I either need an old copy of ProTools or a new OP177 if I want tomodify a few alarm text entries? In think I have the original OP17 code but obviously without ProTools I cant be sure.

(When you have the original Protool project you can migrate the project) Be aware you need WinCC flexible 2008 SP2 or lower!!! When you have WinCC flexible 2008 SP3, you can not migrate a Protool project. Best regards, Wizard

For OP17 you need Protool, and then if you want, migrate the project in WinCC Flexible

(After migration, you change HMI Panel) You need Protool. Or if it is an replacement, perhaps you can Backup using Prosave and Restore on same type of panel. Best regards, Wizard

Murof Platinum Expert Joined: 8/3/2009 Last visit: 9/5/2025 Posts: 16343 Rating: (1931)	Hello you can only use WinCC flexible if you migrate the OP17 to a newer Panel like OP177 (or as step between migrating to TIA Portal to a modern panel) (LINK) you cannot download Protool from Siemens Website, its a outdated SW and will also not run properly on modern OS.
