WinCC OLE DB Access Error from Remote Client PC

betaria_hartari Joined: 4/16/2025 Last visit: 7/29/2025 Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	We are trying WinCC OLE DB connection from Server A to get alarm and process value archive data from Server B. Server A and Server B are installed WinCC 8.1 and has WinCC RC license. The WinCC OLE DB provider is installed in both servers. We tried to get data from Server A database via WinCC OLE DB using VB script running in Server A (local access) and it works. We also tried to get data from Server B database via WinCC OLE DB using VB script running in Server B and it works too. But if we tried to get data from Server B using VB script running in Server A (remote access), the connection doesn't work. The error in Server A when running the VB script is “login failed” What is the possible cause of the error? Attachment OLE DB error.png (88 Downloads)

I would try this first and if it works, the User from Server a has to be created also in Server b and so on. and has to be also in SIMATIC HMI local use group Bye Murof
