S7 416 fault during download

During a simple FB download, the communication between the computer and the PLC got lost. I tried viewing the diagnostics but there was an error telling me that the address cannot be accessed. All the leds on the CPU were flashing. I tried switching off the power of the power source but the fault did not stop. I tried reseting the CPU memory, the problem persisted. After switching off the breaker that powers all the PLC racks and switching back on the problem went away. I would like to mention that i was downloading an FB that where i only modified a simple network with a bit that I did use previously of this download and the communication between the computer and the PLC is on Ethernet. Could you please explain to me what happened. Thank you

The best reference for concluding the exact cause of fault would be reading entries of diagnostics buffer of CPU.Use MPI adapter to check the buffer if you have problem with ehernet CP.Check for mismatch between configured and actual hardware.
