Runtime stops logging to database

micon Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hello everyone, Info: I am using WinCC Flexible Runtime to log data to my SQL server. It is set up to log production values every minute from multiple machines. I have an mpi network connecting the machines then an mpi to ethernet converter. I am then pulling the data from SQL to EXCEL to manipulate it. Problem: The runtime stops logging new data to the SQL database randomly. It seems like the program goes inactive or hibernates but I have all the correct settings on my server to prevent that. Runtime keeps logging the same value after a certain point of running but then will go back to logging the current data randomly as well. If i close the runtime and restart it, new data will be logged again but then the same problem happens again at random intervals. Is this a communication problem with the network or something with runtime? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Regards, Michael

micon Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	I think the connection toSQL is stable. The Runtime will quit updating the values on screen and in SQL. For example, I have a part counter on the machines. The part counter will quit incrementing in Runtime and keep logging that same value in toSQL until I restart Runtime. That seems like it would be a Runtime problem and not a SQL problem. Is it possible for SQL to cause problems with the Runtime? I am just using the datalog ability in WinCC Flex Advanced for all of my logs.

Kruno Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	I have exactly same problem. Problem occurs on two different locations with different PLC setup. One setup is S7-200 CPU and 2 tag logging. And the other is with s7-1200 and 4 tag logging. Both running WinCC flex 2008 SP2. Data is logged for one day every 4min. Then transferred to new tabel each day for archiving purpose. When i read archived tables in rt. There are periods of "straight lines" that begin on random time and last for random period of time. The problem is that this can last for several hours and then afterwards logging starts all by itself. The other thing I noticed is in CSV file. Table for each day is transferred to CSV. And when i analyze the CSV, data is not chronologically ordered. I have data in chronological order, for example from 1AM to 6AM afterwards suddenly data from 6PM to 8PM and then data from 11AM to 2PM. Thanks for your support SIEMENS!

You can find more information about logging in the following links. How do you log tags in an SQL database and read them out again with WinCC flexible?
