The question I’m about to ask is regarding the functionality of the recipe viewer and recipe data records but first I would like to explain what I've done so far.

I’m working on my first project with recipes in WinCC Flexible (2008 SP3).

If you configure your recipe viewer so that the Data Record has a name and show its name in an IO field, the last selected recipe name will be showed. To show the name of the downloaded recipe I’ve made a string copy on the moment the download of the recipe is active and look at the new string in my IO field.

When navigating away from the page with the recipe viewer and on re-opening it I want to show the data of the active recipe. I’ve done this by an event on load of the page with GetDataRecordName.

The problem which is presented to me now is that I want to avoid an operator action of changing a data record and download it to the PLC without saving the recipe. I could compare all data record fields but that is too much if you ask me. I would like to know if I can somehow access the WinCC Flexible system data that can see if a recipe is changed. I got the feeling this is not possible as I’ve tried a lot. I know flexible does recognize the change because if I change screens or select a different recipe it prompts me with the question if I want to save the record or not.
