MP-277 Smart Server/Access on Enet = MAC address conflicts

AKcmich Posts: 2 Rating: (1)	I have a problem with seven new MP277 panels all advertising the same MAC address (0800.069d.xxx) in addition to their individual unique MAC addresses. How can I change or remove this pseudo MAC address so that I can get rid of my address conflicts on the network? Some are Configured as Server and some as the client.

AKcmich Posts: 2 Rating: (1)	As a follow up for other users - we solved our problem.... The MP panels by default use a protocol called LLDP which does an automatic discovery of the network. All of the MP panels use the same mac address as part of that. The Mac address used is 0800.069d.3840. On our network we use port security for every port on our switches so only devices with the correct mac address can connect. We also use a feature called sticky where we tell the port that only one or two devices can connect, and the switch captures the mac addresses. So we ended up having multiple switches on our network all advertising that they had the connection to 0800.069d.3840. Our switches were reporting port flapping while they tried to sort out the correct route to that mac address. The LLDP feature can be turned off on the MP panels but only after upgrading the OS to WinCC flex 2008 SP 2 update 13. You will need this update in order to see the checkbox. The checkbox is found when going to MP panels Setting\Control Panel\Network and Dial-up\Edit\Properties, and thenselecting the 3rd tab titled Ethernet Parameters and checking the boxfor "End of topology discovery".
