Comunication problem

I have a PLC and an HMI station on my system, what we need is to add an other HMI station and conect it to the same PLC. The problem is that the conection can't be established by profibus network, but if i try to conect the new panel with an other PLC (cause I have one to train, test some stuff) the conection is established with no issues at all. The HMI projects are not integrated on the PLC project. What could be the cause of this? I'm sorry, I'm so new at this. My software is WinCC flex 2008 SP2 The panel that we need to add is an Op 277 6" The PLC is an 315-2 DP V1.6.6 regards.

Eastern Posts: 557 Rating: (64)	Hello, It could be the problem of connection. Try following. 1) Connect new HMI on the place of old one. If it work that means your new conection has some problem. If not that mean you need to check your connection setting in software.try to makenew project with intregated plc & HMI & camparecommuncation setting with yourpresent one. 2) go to hardware configuration-go to CPU property go to communication-- you will find connection resource for communcation. Checkfor op.

Hello weirdooo, What is the Profibus address you have define for the New HMI ? try to see it is not same as Old HMI...... Try to make it more than 4 or onward.....

Checkfor op. Thanks to both of you for your replies. The addres is correct. So I'm going to try what Eastern propose. But I have a question, when adding the HMI station to the S7 project is it necessary to set up the HMI on the HW configuration? I mean adding the HMI to the Dp network? Or is it not necessary? I can't replace the old HMI panel with the new one, cause the one that is already installed on the machine is conected by MPI network. Today I conected the new HMI by MPI network and it worked just fine, but I need to install it by Dp cause the wiring is already set up. Regards

Tweety Posts: 3037 Rating: (192)	Hello, you should integrate your HMI project in your PLC project. Then you can connect your panel to the your PLC in NETPRO in STEP 7. How do you configure a connection between WinCC flexible Runtime (PC/Panel) and a SIMATIC S7-300/S7400 via PROFIBUS/MPI? Tweety

Eastern Posts: 557 Rating: (64)	Hello, It is not necessary to intregrate HMI with Simatic manager. You can pass address in HMI connection manually & it will work. But better to intregrate with simatic manager. You will get HMI connection setting automatically. On profibus. You have to extend cable from your old HMI & can be able to connect new HMI with new profibus address.
