HMI device "PC677C" and PLC 414-5H are not communicated over ethernet.

I have PLC device "PLC 414-5H" and HMI device "PC677C" both are integrated in Simatic manager. Now I want to make connection between HMI and PLC over Ethernet but in HMI (WinCC flexi --> Connections) ethernet port or connection is not available. while in Manuual PC677C shows ethernet port available. What should I do to make connection between "PLC 414-5H" and "PC677C" over ethernet (Both PLC and HMI are integrated in Simatic manager).

S7 AUTOMAN Posts: 515 Rating: (56)	Hi, Refer the below attachment. It is used for TIA but the procedure is same for wincc flexible too. First assign an ip address for the simatic panel, assign an ip for the plc too(both the ip's should fall under the same network id) and then configure these IP adresses in the connections of the wincc flexible software. it should just simply work Attachment WinCC_TIA_Portal_Ethernet_Transfer_en.pdf (239 Downloads)

I am making connection in WinCC flexi (Software) which is not giving me option of ethernet node (In drop down list). Please see below attachment for this. FYI: PC677C contain ethernet port Hi danny_ash If you want to connect to ethernet node you should add an IE-General CP from the hardware configuration to the PC677C.

Now I am able to communicate my Panel PC677C with PLC using "IE-gerneral". IT is working ok. During my trial I found that,there are also one more option available to connect "Panel PC677C " with PLC using "HMI-IE". this optionh is also working. Now my question is wheter I should use "IE-gerneral" or "HMI-IE". what is basic differance between these two? Also I would like to say that I am using Panel PC677C which is not PC runtime but HMI device with inegrated ethernet port.
