Max 1SI modules with IM151-8 PN

I tried verifying with SIMATIC ET200 Configuration tool and found that it did not report any error eventhough I had used 61 nos. of them. Attached is the snapshot view of the configuration file. IM151-8 F-CPU PN/DP, IM 151-7/F-CPU, IM 151-7/CPU and IM 151-7/CPU FO are used for connection of max. 63 I/O modules (all types, PROFIsafe only with IM151-8 F-CPU PN/DP and IM151-7/F-CPU) to PROFINET or PROFIBUS DP (alternatively, bus connection with RS 485 D-Sub connector or using integrated fiber-optic connection). With integrated CPU to pre-process the process data. Hope you get your answer

Please clarify. HelloRaghav, Max. No. of moduels per rack for For HF-IM6ES7151-1BA02-0AB0is 63 module including power modules. But without exceeding 244 Byte Input & 244 Byte Output in addressing area of this IM. and also should not exceed 700mA (backplane current). So, Actual No. of allawable modules depends on: 63 modules (Max.) 244 Byte Input 244 Byte Output 700 mA on back plane. If you exceed one of the above limits, you should go for another new rack. For Module "6ES7138-4DF01-0AA0", I/O data transmismission setting for each module can beprogrammed 4, 8 or 32 bytes. For 4 byte IO data transmission; Max. Modules per IM-HF rack is: 61 modules For 8byte IO data transmission; Max. Modules per IM-HF rack is:30 modules For 32byte IO data transmission; Max. Modules per IM-HF rack is:8 modules For mixing above settings or adding Digital and/or Analog modules, total number of modules will be different according to abobe 4 restrictions. Hope this helps.

However, I could not find any technical specification forIM151-8 CPU ! Hello again, It is really too difficult to find this info in manuals. I tried a lot. May be because it will be strange to install all these quantaties of SI module in a single rack. In any case, the same rule of IM153-2HF will apply on the IM151-8 CPU. You should take care of max. byte limitation. For IM151-7 CPU, It's not possible to use 1SI module in 32 byte mode (from configurator). I am still not sure if this rule is also valid for IM151-8 CPU or not. The configurator don't cover this CPU You can check your self using configurator: http://www.siemens.com/simatic-selection-tool-standalone Hope this helps.
