Basic positioner control word

krisbi Posts: 87 Rating: (2)	Hello everyone. I configured my SInamics S120 to enable basic positioning and to recieve/send Standard telegram 111. Then I went to TIA Portal and made program that sends these control words: STW1: 0000 0100 0111 ?111 (? goes from 0 to 1 when I want to turn on drive) POS_STW1: 1001 0001 0000 0000 POS_STW2: 0000 0001 0010 0001 STW2: don't need to implement??? OVERRIDE: nothing? MDI_TARPOS: some position (how do I know how much will the drive turn if I send 0x4000 to this adress) MDI_VELOCITY: nothing? MDI_ACC: nothing? MDI_DCC: nothing? Can anyone see if these control words are correct? My drive only turns on but nothing is happening with motor. I want to implement direct positioning, absolute, with modulo axis, with follow up mode. Thanks.

Thanks. Jens_app is correct that SINAMICS conference may be better. 0x4000 is the max position. You will want to use technology objects for motion control. Check for the various online helps/tutorials and FAQs on the use of motion control objects in portal (including youtube). Typical bits you need are the first 6 bits and bit 10 to make the motor move under PLC control. The ON/OFF1 bit is used for start/stop of the motion for normal control. Check your drive for more detail on the control and look for Siemens drive control library blocks to make your status and control word decode/encode easier as these blocks do all the hard work for you to set the right bits.
