Motor Staging

hamid rad Posts: 41 Rating: (8)	Hi there Here is five air compressor motor (each of them = 250kw). We want to control all of them by just one inverter. as you know some of Siemens inverter has Motor Staging solution like MM430. But we need to drive all motors (one by one) by just an inverter (completely soft). Is there some solution to do this? best regards

Using one of this functions you can start up one motor with inverter and then synchronize the inverter to the line to make an overlapping synchronized transfer. In this way you can start the motors one by one with one inverter. Details can be found in the S120 function manualin chapters 5.18 and 5.22.

Then switch inverter to next motor, start up, synchronize .... If the motors are different you may use different motor data sets with each motor. The logic can be done in a PLC or using Drive Control Chart inside the drive.
