Is it possible to create MemoryCard/USB to transfer an HMI project without TIA PORTAL?

I have a project with only an HMI in TIA PORTAL, i would like to create a backup of this project on a Memory Card, send the Memory Card to the customer and tell him to access the HMI control panel and to "restore" this backup to update the panel.

Or something similar to update the panel without the use of the TIA PORTAL.

I found this document attached.

But i don't understand why the document says that "ProSave" must be installed on the PC, the procedure never shows it... is it true or can it be avoided?

You can only do an OS Update with Memory Card in V13 SP1 but you cannot do a Project Transfer with an build in function.(Sure you cantry to copy the Runtime Files mby yourself but this is not the supposed way.)

Pack and Go needs the S7Dos Drivers to communicate via Profibus and Profinet/Ethernet. In the Pack and Go Files there are this drivers not included. With the installation of Prosave the S7Dos Drivers will be installed and you can use the PG/PC Interface Settings in the Control Panel to set up your communication from Transfer PC to Panel.

When you have a Step7 installed you do not need prosave for example.

When you use a Serial or USB Transfer you do not use the S7 DosDrivers and in this cases you do not need to install Prosave. But in 99% of all cases you will use Ethernet or Profibus/MPI for Transfer.
