Can't instal PLCSIM V5.4 SP4 on Windows 7

I know that SP4 of PLCSIM V5.4 can run on Windows 7, but when i try install PLCSIM V5.4 on Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit, i get the follwing message: Attachment ERROR.GIF (1761 Downloads)

Then verify whether you have STEP7 5.5 installed. Additional to that you need the IE installed. Questions on your system: is it maybe a kind of tablet edition or something similar? Can you post the rasetup.log file?

For those who do not understand german, I will translate the main points: Problem: Only PLCSIM 5.4 inc. SP4 can be installed under Win7 (Professional or Ultimate only 32bit versions) SP4 of PLCSIM can be downloaded for free, but needs a earlier version (V5.4 SPx) installed. A earlier version (< V5.4 SP4) can not be installed under Win7. Solution 1: Install a older version under XP export the registry path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Siemens\AUTSW\PLCSim into a reg-file. import the reg-file in your Win7 installation run the setup of SP4 of PLCSIM Solution2 Install STEP 7 Professional 2010, it includes Step 7 V5.5 and PLCSim V5.4 inc. SP4 In both solution you will need a licence key to run PLCSIM.

I have a simple solution to set up PLCSIM V5.4 SP4 on Win7 First, you can set up earlier version of PLCSIM( I use V5.4 SP2) by this way: open file "setup.msi" in folder "S7_PLCSIM_V54_SP2\PLCSim\Disk1" with ORCA, then change this file like this below file. Then you can set up V5.4 SP2 and continue to install SP4. It's very well done!!! Attachment orcaeditweb.JPG (2043 Downloads)
