A STEP 7 Professional license is required to configure S7-1500, while the STEP 7 Basic license is sufficient for S7-1200.

The installed software package is always STEP 7 Professional, it is the license that limits the functionality.

I checked on the AUtomated Licence Manager and I have a STEP 7 Basic licence (V18).

p.s. Just to reiterate, PLCSIM used to work fine with my STEP7 Basic licence (v 18).

But now I have the error message saying 'No Licence' - I just don't understand it.

Could you please check if the license is OK?

You can select it in the Automation License Manager, right-click > Check.

I would also recommend checking if the Automation License Manager service is running (see Windows services).

 Where are you starting PLCsim from? Do you press the Start Simulation button at the top pane of TIA Portal? Or do you start it from the Windows Start menu?

there is (was) such a message indeed. And the remedy is to install the latest update.

Unfortunately i can not remember which update it was and if it was for PLCSIM, STEP7 or ALM.

Nevertheless, install all the latest updates for all packages. The message should be gone afterwards.

There should also be another post to the same topic which was not too long ago.

Just close this instance. It doesn't matter which PLC type it is, you can reopen new instances at any time. Afterwards you can see if the message is still displayed. Done.

Ignoring other posts to the same topic doesn't help either, especially if a quite similar behaviour is known, described and fixed.

you can click on the "house" symbol on the left. There you can create a complete new workspace.
The new workspace does not include any instances afterwards.

thats what I expected and here the updates come into place i suggested a view posts before, including a link to another topic with this behaviour in there also are the links to the updates (which helped in this case).

Because if i look at you screenshots of installed software the page befor, outdated versions of V18 are used.
