PISCEAN 2010 Diamond Expert Joined: 4/23/2010 Last visit: 11/23/2024 Posts: 8092 Rating: (882)	Hello Experts, On 802D PL system, 55 Kw AC spindle drive is controlled by feeding +/- 10V analogue reference.External encoder (2500 PPR) is mounted & coupled to spindle shaft with 1:1 pulleyratio. What is observed is when spindle speed comand value is 60 RPM (M03 S60), actual RPM displayed is 74 RPM.Why is it so? How can I adjust so that there will be less deviation in comand value & actual value? Thanks in advance. DEEP.

I guess there is still the standard value inside (2048) but You need to set this MD on 2500 (related to Your attached encoder). the ratio of current deviation in machines operation (74rpm to 60rpm) matches exactly to the ratio of the ecoder pulses (2500/2ß48) hope that helps CNC600

Moreover what I observed is, when spindle comand or set RPM is 60 & actual RPM is 74, it means there is deviation of 14 RPM (+23%). Spindle speed tolerance, MD number 35150 = 0.1 i.e. 10%. Then in this case why any alarm or message is not getting displayed? (Since actual speed is more than the set speed by 23%, where as speed tolerance set, is10%) Thanks in advance.

CNC600 Silver Member Joined: 10/27/2009 Last visit: 3/15/2024 Posts: 455 Rating: (77)	as I know the 802D supports only one encoder activation from PLC (interface signal). therefore You have to adjust the correct used encoder data set in MD's. the MD ENC_RESOL has been set to "2500" - in what index? 31020{0] or 31020[1]? what is inside 30230[0] and 30230[1]?

The setpoint adjustment need to be checked: 32250, 32260 these MD define the motor speed and the setpoint output. Every programmed spindle speed is related to this rati. These data have to correspond with the maximum spindle speed in each gearstep and the gear ratio therefor.

Did You adjust the converter to these settings? therefor the CNC use the gearstep values (defined in MD31050/31060) and the MD35130 GEARSTEPMAX_VELO_LIMIT. Correspond all these values in Your setting?

What spindle speed do You get in display? (check the displayed value) What spindle speed do You get on the spindle head? (count the rotations within 1 min) If both values are 74rpm => the setpoint adjustment of converter is not correct or the gearratio (spindle max speed) is not correct. If the values are not equal => encoder adjustment is not correct.
