OBs for diagnostics

alexfizeau Posts: 95 Rating: (0)	How does the PLC S7-300 deals with OBs for diagnostics (OB80, OB81, OB82 etc.) ? From what I have read,S7-300 calls the respective OB and if the OB is not programmed (probably nothing written inside of the OB), the PLC changes to STOP mode. OK, this is understood. But if I write in the respective OB only a Network in which I set a bit in order for the PLC to message to an OP display, after this Network has been processed by the PLC, what happens: the PLC continues in RUN mode, or goes to STOP mode ? [:cry:]

The CPU will go in 'STOP' If the OB82, OB86 etc are in the CPU, even when nothing programmed in it, the CPU stays in 'RUN' So if you want the CPU to stay in RUN, You'll have todownload OB's in CPU. Off course it's better to programm them too. Best regards, Wizard

The idea is that in error case the OB82 (diagnostic-OB) will called by programm. The temp-datas in the OB82have the reason for the error. You can check this when youread out this information in OB82 and e.g. write it into a DB. Greetings Morten
