Added: Setting the posts as 'read' does work,
it just does not do any page update as intended.

thanks for the information! I can confirm that it is the same on my site. I also need to refresh the page to successfully mark the topics as read.

Dear Users,

we checked the system and it works. The only not so nice thing is that the waiting gyroscope is not removed and the automatic reload is missing.
As long as the behavior persists, we recommend, as you already mentioned, reloading the page or using the function via the forum entry page, because it works there. 

As soon as the function works again without a reload, I will inform you.

We deploy updates regularly. Sometimes with functionality that hopefully create new benefits for our users. Sometimes also for maintenance and stabilization.
