servo drive

Fedrick Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	Dear all, I have siemens servo drive for controlling the movement of slides and slides are moved with help of a hand wheel. I am using servo brake motor.when i operate my hand wheel no movements are happening and no error is also displayed .Drive is in run mode and no fault in the drive.But movement is not happening. I have checked and ensured the encoder cables and profibus communications are ok. regards Fedrick

Dave Posts: 271 Rating: (29)	Hello Fedrick, You indicate that you are operating a Simodrive 611; however, I will assume that the drive controller is a Simodrive 611U and that you have it programmed to be in position mode using a standard 1FK7 or 1FT6/7 servomotor. The help files in SimoCom U are quite good. Go to "Help",then "Help topics" and type in "angular encoder interface". Another resource is Section 6.8.3 in the Simodrive 611U Configuration Manual. I have to assume that you have read this section already. Within SimoCom U the main menu has a selection for "Angular encoder interface". Select "angular encoder as input". Then make addtional settings to the type of handwheel you have and the reaction you require (e.g., positive only, resolution,etc.). I suggest that you select "Forwards/reverse signal" for the "Signal waveform". Also, following these settings P-890 should already be set for a value of "2". The drive needs to be enabled fully and the value in PZD5 of your Profibus telegram (OVR = override) should have a value of 100%. Hope this helps...
