I am looking at adding AUTOMATIC LOGOFF via "Automatic Logoff: tab associated with Configure SIMATIC LOGON.

After clicking the tickbox associated with automatic logoff when I go to press OK I get the following message:

The configuration cannot be applied.

Ensure that the user logged on to Windows who started the program has permission to write to the configuration file and attempt it again.  The logon for SIMATIC logon & Configure SIMATIC logon were different.

I tried shutting down WINCC first but I ended up with same message.

You need to right-click the configure simatic logon and select run as administrator.

If you start it by just double-click, it will not run with afmin rights.
