Its because of different sql if i remember correct. (regarding installation of both pro and unified)

Its the plc that controls the servo, wincc is visual interface so both can do it.

Either WinCC option works.  Pro is the way Siemens configured HMIs for decades.  Unified uses javascript, html, and web "stuff" in the background which supposedly offers additional features with less development time on both Siemens end and our end (screen creators).

If you are young in the controls engineering profession, I recommend the Unified version because that is the future direction for Siemens, so the sooner you get on board, the faster you will become productive for the long term.
