So here I sit with a bunch of brand new IPC547G PCs with Windows 10 IoT Enterprise / Windows 2012 Server trying to install WinCC and Step7.

However it seems impossible to install dotNet 3.5 on any of them.

I tried using Add/Remove programs and Server Manager with the supplied CDs.  Then I tried using Microsoft CDs. Then I tried everything in the Siemens Support id 109745988. 

Nothing is working. 

I need help urgently.

and which error number you get exacty?
is .Net 4.6 installed on the IPC? If yes try to unistall 4.6 , install 3.5 and then install 4.6 again.

Which Version of WinCC and Step7 you would install?

Tried the uninstall thing with 4.6.

The same error over and over: .net cannot be found

Like I said, have tried supplied cd’s, my own cd’s, internet advice, even Siemens faq advice

Still stuck....

Lodging a support request with Siemens.

Sure not very happy with IPCs after convincing my customer to use them because “ they are made for Siemens software”. Now I cannot even install any Siemens SW??

the problem is not the IPC the problem is the Operation System you select.

Win 10 daefault have no .Net 3.5!

But which error you get if you try top install .net 3.5 with the dism?
.net not found is the message from the Simatic Software, but which is the message from the .Net 3.5 Install?

Can you provide some screen or command you use to install the .net?

Thanks for the help so far, but I managed to get it sorted (somewhat)

For windows 10 I took an internet modem to site (no sites in SA have internet available as standard, for good reason). This way the windows 10 pc updated.

For the windows server 2012, I uninstalled language packs (lpksetup.exe) and then installed using standard methods.

It would be nice if Siemens could pre-install with dotNet 3.5 especially considering the most IPC I am sure runs their software and most all that software needs it?

I hope someone gets some use out of this 3 days of mess around...

not all SIMATIC SW need .Net 3.5.

TIA Step7 can be installed without .Net 3.5 for example,

The next thing is that there is no option during Windows 10 install to select and install .Net 3.5, this can only be done after the Windows installation.

I have the same problem with .net 3.5 in win server 2012, but i cannot uninstall language packs, only english language is in my machine. Someone can help me?

I have learned that the best way to do this is using the USB drive provided with the IPC.

If you navigate in the folders of the USB drive you should be able to find the .NET 3.5 installers.

It will be for the IPC 477E inside of

DocuAndDrivers/Software/OptionalWindowsFeatures/DotNet351

run the "install.bat" file inside
